  • Dubai International Airport (DXB) handled 46 million passengers in the first half of 2025, setting a new record and showing a year-on-year growth of 2.3%.
  • The growth rate was bolstered by a new monthly record in January with 8.5 million passengers, and Q2 throughput was 22.5 million, up 3.1%.
  • A significant factor behind the growth at DXB is the increase in tourists to Dubai, with 8.7 million overnight visitors from January to May, showing a year-on-year growth of 7%.
  • The aviation sector, including the performance of national carriers like Emirates, has been a key driver of GDP growth in Dubai, with the transport and storage component of GDP expanding by 5.3% year-on-year over the first three quarters of 2024.
